We Love London
Quick Summary
Following the 2011 London riots, LCF set up an emergency response fund to support individuals and businesses worst affected by the violence.
In detail
In August 2011, London and Londoners were affected by riots across the city. Many businesses, families and individuals were left without their homes, possessions and livelihoods. In response to the need left in the aftermath and the overwhelmingly positive response from Londoners who wanted to help, LCF launched the 'We Love London' appeal. The money raised was distributed through hardship grants to individuals made homeless and small independent businesses whose livelihoods were affected.
We are extremely grateful to all the donors that responded do generously to this fund and would like to extend particular thanks to the team at Deutsche Bank who underwrote our administration costs, meaning that all donations went straight to people in need.
Whilst ‘We Love London’ was a response to the riots, the sentiment of care for the city and its people is one that embodies all that we do. We aim to continue work under the ‘We Love London’ banner and simply ask you to watch this space...

We say
"Following the riots we were contacted by so many people and organisations that wanted to make a difference but didn’t quite know how. ‘We Love London’ was born out of people rallying together after a crisis and is a symbol of the fact that Londoners do care!"
They say
“Clifford Chance's community outreach work is focussed on our local communities, especially in East London, and ‘We Love London’ is a great way to ensure that funds are given to those who really need emergency help to get back on their feet. It's great to be a part of such an initiative."
Cathy Jones, Head of Community Outreach, Clifford Chance
