Affinity Sutton Community Grants

Purpose
To support projects which are benefiting Affinity Sutton communities. Grants of between £300 and £5,000 are available. Please read guidelines for more information.

Notes
The fund is UK-wide but can only support projects which are focused on benefiting residents in Affinity Sutton housing. Please read the guidelines thoroughly before applying. Applicants who unsure whether their project is operating in an Affinity Sutton area are advised to call to check their eligibility before applying.

Capital Jubilee Fund

Purpose
Funding is available for street parties and local projects that bring people together to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the summer of 2012 (1 May-31 July 2012). Grants of up to £1,000 are available.

Comic Relief Local Communities Programme

Purpose
The programme aims to empower local people, enabling them to create lasting change in their communities. Projects should be run by local people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups and organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community. You can apply for funding to:

increase local services;
build skills of local people;
increase community cohesion;
respond to local economic needs;
increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation.

Covent Garden Market Authority Community Fund

Purpose
To support projects being delivered in the immediate vicinity of the New Covent Garden Market and Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area. The four themes are: Food & Growing; Enterprising Communities and supporting job creation;Supporting young people at risk; Tackling elderly isolation and exclusion. Please read the fund guidelines for full details.

Deptford Challenge Trust - Small Grants

Purpose
To improve the quality of life for people who live and work in Deptford. Proposed activites must benefit residents within the DCT area (please see map before you apply). Grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available. In particular the trustees encourage applications for projects that respond to a local need and promote networking and local partnerships. Previous grantees are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to new applicants.

Deptford Challenge Trust - Strategic Grants

Purpose
To improve the quality of life for people who live and work in Deptford. Proposed activities must benefit residents within the DCT area (please see map). Grants between £5,000 and £30,000 per year are available and the trustees will now consider funding over more than one year. Please be aware the Trust will only be able to make one or two multiple year grants. In particular the trustees encourage applications for projects that respond to a local need and promote networking and local partnerships.

Deutsche Bank Small Grants Fund

Purpose
To support groups working under the themes of Education and Community Development. Please read the guidelines very carefully before applying.

Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund

Purpose
Your organisation must prove you are working to lift people out of poverty in one of the following areas:

Training and educating people who have dropped out of mainstream education
Getting people into work such as through apprenticeship or mentor schemes
Fighting gangs, knife and gun crime
Improving mental and physical health and well-being, such as through sports clubs and helping carers
Addressing other manifestations of poverty such as homelessness, pensioner poverty or the working poor.

You should also be able to demonstrate community involvement in your project and work.

Fair Share Trust

Purpose
The Fair Share Trust is a £50 million trust set up nationally by the Big Lottery Fund in 2003 providing grant funding in 80 neighbourhoods that had not received their fair share of lottery funding. The fund is managed by The London Community Foundation in two specific neighbourhoods: Ponders End in Enfield, and an area within Parsloes and Alibon Wards in Barking & Dagenham.

Lambeth Community Fund - Social Enterprise Development Programme

Purpose
This fund is an exciting opportunity for Lambeth organisations that has been created in partnership with Lambeth First and the Lambeth Community Fund. The programme is focused on helping organisations who are, or wish, to become social enterprises within the borough. We are looking to strengthen the sector and position Lambeth organisations to make a difference in the borough through social enterprise. Funding is available under the following themes:

Start up and business support for local people and organisations establishing new social enterprises
To support existing social enterprises to ‘scale up’ and increase their organisational capacity

Lambeth Community Fund - Wates Giving Small Community Grants

Purpose
Grants of between £250 and £2,000 are available to support locally based projects benefitting residents of social housing in Lambeth. You must be able to demonstrate that you are working within an area of social housing and that your work is led by the community.

Lambeth Festivals and Outdoor Events Fund

Purpose
This is an exciting new programme that has been launched in conjunction with Lambeth Council to support community festivals and events in the borough whilst also helping to tackle worklessness. Groups are invited to apply for grants from £500 to £15,000 to hold festivals and events in the borough’s public and green spaces. For this Fund the definition of a community festival is:

an event with a common theme of celebration, be it cultural, or of community interest that happens within a defined time period and is delivered within the London Borough of Lambeth in a park, open space or other outdoor venue
an event or festival that is open and accessible to all of the community
at least one day in length (minimum of 5 hours)
In addition applicants must demonstrate that they are helping to tackle worklessness within the borough as part of their activities.

Alongside the main fund we are also running a small events programme for small scale outdoor events not covered by the main Festivals and Outdoor Events Fund. This can cover events such as street parties and localised fun days (for example on a specific estate), where the attendees are likely to be local residents. Grants are available from £100 up to £500.

Land Securities Fund

Purpose
Focusing on helping projects which support young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) or those at risk of becoming NEET; projects addressing employability and worklessness and projects supporting the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless. Please read the guidelines for further information.

Notes
There is no fixed income threshold for applicants, however small-medium sized local organisations may be prioritised. We expect applicant organisations to apply for work which focuses on supporting beneficiaries located primarily in one of the above named boroughs.

Man Group plc Charitable Trust Community Programme

Purpose
To support projects focusing on disadvantaged youth, literacy and numeracy or vulnerable populations. Please read the guidelines for further information.

Santander Social Enterprise Development Awards

Purpose

Funding is available to help growing social enterprises in the Greater London region to increase the impact of their work to improve social inclusion, support disadvantaged people or create a greener environment.

The awards will support community enterprises looking to grow and develop their business in order to improve their local community through critical social outcomes. Funding is available under the following themes:

Improving social inclusion
Supporting training, skills, and employment
Creating a greener environment

Purpose
To support social or educational projects that improve the lives of people who live in the Fund’s area of benefit. The Southfields Community Fund has a very local focus and those benefitting from a grant must live within the defined area of Southfields, as shown on the map below. Grants up to £1,500 are available.

Purpose
To support local charities,community groups and voluntary organisations that are working within Wandsworth, with a particular emphasis on the area that comprises the historic Parish Of Wandsworth. Grants will be awarded to local groups meeting one of the following grant criteria:

The relief of poverty and/ or need among the elderly
Providing education or training to help residents, irrespective of age, to become better equipped to enter the world of work

Purpose

Purpose
