50 charities celebrated their ‘Londonations’ success at an awards ceremony on the impressive 30th floor of Barclays Headquarters last week.
Each charity, selected from 300 applications, picked up a cheque for £2,000. Londonations was a partnership initiative between Barclays, Metro and Capital Community Foundation with Barclays donating £100,000 for the support of small charities.
Adam Rowse, Retail Regional Director of Barclays, North London commented on the applications: “I was overwhelmed by the range of charities that applied to Londonations and by the great work they do. The Barclays teams in the local branches will be making contact with each winner and looking for other ways for us to support their work.”
Anne-Marie Asgari is Chair of Me Too & Co, an organisation that works with under-10s with special needs and one of the winning charities:
"I was completely mesmerized by the Barclay's building and the surrounding environment, it made such a difference to come and to collect the cheque this way. Also, to receive a £2000 cheque for our organisation will make a huge difference for our children in their play development. What a thoughtful idea, to give 50 small organisations like ours the opportunity to improve their services and support in this way.”
The £100,000 fund is shared equally between the following charities. Congratulations to you all.
